Day 3 starts with the ascent of Susten Pass, climbing 1'300 meters in elevation on a road built during the Second World War to 2'224 meters above sea level, with a maximum gradient of 9%. Following a rewarding 28-kilometer descent, Grimsel Pass offers a gentler climb (26 kilometers at an average gradient of 5.9%) with historic significance dating back to Roman times.

Next, the highest mountain pass road of Switzerland over Furka Pass presents serpentine turns and breathtaking views, ending with a technically challenging descent to Andermatt.
