Is Alpenrundfahrt a race?

No, Alpenrundfahrt is a social cycling event for friends and friends of friends of BK Cycling, not a race. There will be no timekeeping, but you are welcome to track your progress personally with your own devices.

CAN I REGISTER FOR ONLY ONE OR TWO DAYS?

Yes, you can register for one, two or three days, depending on your availability and preference.

Can I also go for a shorter version each day?

Yes, you can choose to take a shorter route. On days 2 and 3, there is a choice between a shorter route and an extended route. But please ensure that you ride with someone else back to Brunnen.

Will there be support vehicles accompanying us?

Yes, there will be support vehicles accompanying us but they may not be available at any time. You may deposit personal belongings and spare clothes in the accompanying support vehicles. To keep you rolling, a limited range of bicycle spare parts and tools will be available.

Who is responsible for my safety?

You are responsible for your own safety and are obliged to adhere to the Swiss Road Traffic Act (Strassenverkehrsgesetz) at all times. In particular, you are asked to observe road signs and redlights, not to obstruct traffic, and to adapt your speed to the circumstances.

You are bound by the BK Cycling Principles and obliged to, inter alia, wear a helmet, use head and tail lights, to avoid risky maneuvers, to leave no one behind, to support other riders, and to dial 144 or 1414 in case of emergency and inform the organizer +41 79 895 93 69.

Our support vehicles will be equipped with first aid kits.

Do I need insurance coverage?

Yes, you are required to obtain personal liability insurance coverage (Privathaftpflichtversicherung), accident insurance as well as health and travel insurance coverage.

How is the accommodation organized?

You are responsible for arranging your accommodation during Alpenrundfahrt in Brunnen. We will have some rooms reserved at the Waldstätterhof and Weisses Rössli on a first-come, first-served basis. Please book your room directly with the hotel asap with reference to "Alpenrundfahrt" (limited availability).

Will parking and bike storage be available?

Yes, you are welcome to store your bike in your room at the Hotel.

Will food and beverages be provided throughout the event?

While you are encouraged to bring your own preferred snacks and beverages for the rides, our support vehicles will carry a basic stock of refreshments, such as chocolate bars, fruits, energy gels, and some beverages (e.g., coke, water, and carbo-drinks). Moreover, we have arranged for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on each day (including an arrival dinner).

What should I bring along?

A detailed packing list will be provided in due course, ensuring you are well-prepared for every aspect of Alpenrundfahrt.

Is there a specific attire for the rides?

We kindly ask you to wear your BK Cycling gear for a unified team look during all rides. Should you not yet own BK Cycling gear, please let us know accordingly in your registration, and a set will be provided for you.

CAN I WASH MY BK CYCLING GEAR?

Yes, for your convenience, a complimentary laundry service will be available at the Hotel Waldstätterhof.

When do we set off to our rides?

On each day, we will gather in front of the hotel at 8.15 a.m. sharp and depart at 8.30 a.m. latest. With the exception of the first day, we will depart for the boat at 07:00, where breakfast will be served.
